Research Interests

The research activity is essentially focused on four main fields:
i) development of highly sensitive metal-containing probes for MRI (T₁, T₂ and CEST agents) and their application in cells systems or in vivo,
ii) development of "smart" nano− or micro−carriers (micelles, liposomes, MSNs, RBCs, etc..) for delivery of imaging probes and for the development of in vitro analytical assays
iii) development of MRI procedures for the characterization of tumor microenvironment (pH, temperature, vascular volume etc..),
iv) development and characterization of probes for photoacoustic imaging.
